Insurance and Payment Information

Understanding your financial situation before starting therapy is important to ensure that the process is sustainable and stress-free. Being aware of what you can afford helps you plan for consistent care, choose the right type of services—such as private practice, sliding scale options, or insurance-covered providers—and make the most of any health benefits. It also prevents unexpected costs and allows you to focus fully on your emotional well-being without the added burden of financial uncertainty.

Dr. Budesa is in network with the following insurance companies:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans

  • Medicare

If you are using insurance benefits from one of the accepted plans listed above, Dr. Budesa’s office will submit claims on your behalf. You will be responsible for any costs determined by your specific insurance plan, including deductibles, co-pays, and co-insurance.

For those not covered by these networks who wish to use out-of-network benefits, the office can submit claims directly to your insurance provider or supply a detailed superbill for you to submit independently. Please note that full payment is due at the time of service, and your insurance company will reimburse you according to the terms of your individual plan. Many clients find that their out-of-network benefits cover a significant portion of their costs, often resulting in expenses comparable to in-network care.

Psychotherapy sessions are typically 45 minutes and are billed at a rate of $200 per session. All payments, including co-pays and co-insurances determined by your insurance, are collected at the time of services. Dr. Budesa’s office accepts cash, check, and credit card payments. Sliding scale pricing is available to uninsured clients with demonstrated financial need. Additionally, services are available free of charge to eligible military members and their families through Dr. Budesa’s participation in Give an Hour (see Resources page).
